I am a native Oregonian – born and raised in Wilsonville. I lived a brief two years in Arcata California, which is where I learned about autocross in 2006 with Redwood Sports Car Club. That’s also about the time I started learning about “performance” in cars as well (rather than just adding more and more LEDs…).

In 2007 I moved back to Oregon and spent time racing between Willamette Motor Club, Emerald Empire Sports Car Club, and Autocross Club of Central Oregon. For my first four years I raced a 2000 Infiniti G20t in FSP, followed for a short time by an extremely under-prepared (gutted) 1991 G20. In 2013 I sold the G20s, and jumped into an NA Porsche 944, and after several years I managed to find a deal on an 88 951S (pictured).

I also own/have owned a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 1978 Datsun 200sx, 1977 Porsche 911, two 1984 Porsche 944, 2004 VW R32, and a 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel.

I have run in a variety of hillclimbs since 2014, including Bible Creek, Maryhill, The Freezout, Larison Rock, and Hoopa (though the car decided 3 cylinders was better than 4).

Todd Averitt and I started BCA with the goal of becoming one of the most inclusive groups around: No specific marque requirement. An instructional program for new autocrossers. A place for competition.

Thank you all for your support.

I started autocrossing in 1999 with my (then new) Dodge Neon. This was my first experience outside of the 70’s derelicts I learned to drive on.

I quickly learned how to properly navigate my way over curbs, and once I even managed to throttle-lift-oversteer into a field on my way home from a night shift in the fab shop.

In 2004 I also began to rallycross, and continued that for a few years. I came back to autocross when a friend wanted to get involved, around 2012.

The last two seasons I have spent re-learning car control in my wife’s 1993 RX-7. With “fun” being the goal, we’ve worked hard to bring the car up to a somewhat reliable condition.

With both my Neon, and her RX-7, we have found that the fastest runs happen with a passenger –

I’ve been a long time sports car enthusiast.  Car shows, watching and attending various racing events, and occasionally working on cars or helping others with their cars.

Five years ago, co-workers got me to attend some local Porsche events, and a few months later I purchased a 911.  One event was autocross at PIR.  It probably took me three or four events to really get the hang of it, but I was hooked.  Autocross events are great and it’s always interesting to talk to people who are new to the activity or are expert competitors. Bridge City Autosports is a great group of people and the events are fun!
