Scott Schoenfelder

Car(s) presently owned (and their name?):
1966 C10 “Army Truck”, 2004 Dodge 3500 diesel and a 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ.

 

 

Years Owned:
Two years.

Modifications (i.e.interior/exterior, engine, chassis):
5.3 V8, S10 T5 5 speed, simple 5″/7” suspension drop with a C10 sway bar up front and a WS6 Trans Am sway bar our back, Unisteer power rack and pinion kit, Wilwood manual brake master cyliner, 275/40r18 Hankook Ventus R-S4 tires on 18×9 Rev 107 aluminum rally wheels. All stock interior down to the original bench seat and lap belts.

How long have you been racing, and what types of racing do you do?
I did a couple rally cross events 10 years ago and then half a season of autocross under my belt.

How did you get into autocross?
Talking with my buddy Sean about his 68 Coyote F100 build he has taken to Optima Street Car events. I really like the ability to go full out and not get into trouble.

 

How do you get focused before/during an event?
I just make sure to remind myself that I’m racing the clock and not all those silly Miatas. =)

What future plans do you have for your racing career (new car, new mods, new types of racing, etc.)?
Modifications to the truck include, new trailing arm crossmember to fix my lack of anti-squat, front suspension geometry changes for more caster and correcting the camber gain and bucket seats would be nice.

 

Outside of racing:

Where are you from, and how did you end up in Oregon/Washington?
Born and raised in Portland.

Do you have a favorite hobby outside of racing?
Offroading is the next big hobby for me.

What is/are your favorite food(s)?
Tacos and burritos.

The favorite car that you have owned?
The Army Truck.

 

Your dream car(s)?
It changes all the time but a 68 Camaro has been on the list for quite a while.

Fact(s) that you are dying to share about you?
I like turtles.

Meaning of life:

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be, and why?
Grizzly bear because I can take anything out with my bear paws.

What was the best thing before sliced bread?
Plasma cutters.
